Established with the impulse of elevating Nigerian artists from Nigeria to the world, Alexis Galleries has moved a step further in its attempt to nourish the Nigerian art industry.
This is in view of the gallery’s upcoming exhibition titled RECYCLED MATTER. The exhibition opens on Saturday the 11th of June, 2022 from 3 pm-4 pm at the gallery’s space in 282 Akin Olugbade Street, off Idowu Martins, Victoria Island, Lagos State.

Experimenting with materials, Ronke Komos is a master at capturing the beauty of human emotions.

Ken Nwadiogbu: A DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVE
This exhibition is happening at Retro Africa Gallery in ( No. 12 Ukpabi Asika Street, Asokoro,) Abuja, Nigeria. The exhibition opened on the 29th of Apr 2022 and ends on the 23rd of June 2022.
A Different Perspective includes the display of installations, NFTs, and paintings by the multidisciplinary and comtemporealist Ken Nwadiogbu. Offering his perspectives, the works on exhibition interrogate breaking events. They are also the artist’s impression of delicate round table issues.
Aside from experiencing Ken Nwadiogbu’s innovativeness on another level, the show is a must-see because it is curated by the French creative entrepreneur and NFT enthusiast Maurice Chapot alongside Dolly Kola-Balogun.

Dilomprizulike: WAITING FOR BUS
Dil Humphrey-Umezulike is popularly referred to as the Dilomprizulike. Or most commonly The Junkman Of Africa. Up until the 24th of June 2022, his sculptural installation of the recycled litter such as articles of clothing, wood, and the likes of them are on display in an exhibition titled Waiting on Bus at Alliance Francaise, Mike Adenuga Centre, Ikoyi, Lagos.
Waiting for Bus curated by Chic Chic Umah has been shown in countries around the world. With a different offering to the usual art dishes in Lagos, this exhibition is a must-see.

Mobolaji Ogunrosoye, Marryam Moma, Taiye Idahor: AUSTERE IMAGINARY
This is a group exhibition of women collage artists presented by Kó. The exhibition is open from the 4th of June to July 3rd, 2022.
The exhibition according to Kó “ is in dialogue with growing scholarship regarding collage tradition and its applications in contemporary fine art, yet it is distinct in its exclusive presentation of collage works on paper. Collage making, as both an extractive and additive process, reveals the explicit agency of its authors, reflecting artists’ choices regarding what is deconstructed and what is reconstructed. The significance of said agency is underscored by this special exhibition’s strict inclusion of women artists.”

Chioma Ebinama, Miranda Forrester, Temitayo Ogunbiyi, Nengi Omuku, and Charmaine Watkiss: THE COMPANY SHE KEEPS
Currently at TIWANI CONTEMPORARY, LAGOS 13 Elsie Femi Pearse StreetVictoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria. The exhibition which started on the 28th of May 2022 runs until the 13th of August.
The exhibition is by appointment. It features two Nigerian-based female artists: Temitayo Ogunbiyi who is famous for her role as Art X Lagos 2019 Artistic Director, and Nengi Omuku.
The trio of Chioma Ebinarama, Charmaine Watkiss, and Miranda Forrester are international female artists.
Ayanfe Olarinde: NOW I KNOW WHY BIRDS FLY
This exhibition is occurring at The African Artists’ Foundation in Lagos, Nigeria. The show which started on the 1st of May is scheduled to close on the 4th of June 2022.
Using her scribbling technique, Ayanfe tries to revive the memory of the audience and share her experiences during the period of COVID-19 when humanity was put on hold. A time when artists had to use their imaginations to create art.
This makes up the photographic story Ayanfe Olarinde is communicating in the subjects of her works exhibited for Now I Know Why Birds Fly. With the exhibition, the artist continues with the objective of unclogging her thoughts, one painting at a time.
